So as many of you may or may not know I lived in Queens, NY for 16 (almost 17) years of my life. After being back in Queens after almost three years, I'm finally starting to remember the area and seeing things I always wanted to visit. So things I highly suggest visiting in New York City are as follows! And don't be afraid to DM me on the socials or comment under my blog if you may want me to do this again with other places.

Martha's Country Bakery: Hands down will forever be my favorite spot in NYC. Growing up in Forest Hills meant I had Martha's Bakery just a few blocks away on the most active street in the area which is Austin Street. I cannot even begin to tell you guys how many times I've had Martha's in my 19 years of life. I've seen that bakery go from a small little walk in to expanding enough to have sit-down meals. They have amazing pastry's, desserts, coffee, hot chocolate, gelato, GREAT EVERYTHING! My plan growing up when I lived over there was to work there once I turned 16 or 18 as my first job (that didn't happen), but I still highly recommend giving this amazing bakery a visit. My personal favorite and go to is their Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake, but I also occasionally switch it up and get their classic Cannoli or Mango Gelato (ugh so good). It's a great place for a late night snack, a date, to get for birthday celebrations, and more. You can check out their menu and locations by clicking here! *Their so good their business has finally started to expand out of Forest Hills and Astoria, and are now in Brooklyn as well*

Times Square (Obviously): Every new person who visits New York City always and I mean always goes to Times Square. I don't blame them it's a great spot and definitely a spot that I went to often to hang out with friends. I suggest going because it's a great spot to take pictures with all the big screens but also on the big red stairs that is in the middle of it all. It's surrounded by restaurants, small local businesses, stores to shop at (H&M, American Eagle, and etc), and even M&M World is right next to it. Not to mention being able to see so much diversity in one spot not only from race and religion, but you will literally see people break dancing in almost every corner, business people in their uniform, people walking half naked everywhere, and character's like spider-man and Elmo roaming around, it's like a crazy world that you literally won't see anywhere else.

Bryant Park: If you do decide to visit Times Square you might as well visit Bryant Park (it's literally right beside it). There you'll find the cutest little shops where you can support small businesses and still have more stores and cool things to visit around the park on the way to Times Square. Not to mention, that Bryant Park also has an Ice Skating rank which I highly suggest visiting. I think they handled keeping the rank open during COVID-19 really well because when I went everyone had their masks on and it wasn't hard to social distance since everyone is skating at different paces. Overall, it's also a nice spot to go on a date, hang out with friends, or even go by yourself because it's very peaceful and tranquil.

Kinokuniya Bookstore: For all my anime people, book lovers, or even artist out there, this is for you. I've always loved Barnes and Noble but this place, had me fan-girling on the inside on a whole other level. I've seen this place on my Tik Tok and actually visited it on Valentines day and I'll just say wow. Everyone that I've spoken to about it thus far even wants to visit it. First off, it's such a vibe from how neat it is and organized. On the first level it's a normal bookstore filled with books you'd also find at Barnes and Noble, the bottom floor with all normal Japanese Literature and oh my goodness. It was color coded, you can see how different the books were from our typical English books it was cool, and there was also an arts and crafts side down there with certain materials (pens, markers, wash tape, journals, etc). Then on the third floor it was all manga (anime comics) and anime march with a little cafe it was so nice. So I highly suggest visiting that since it's also right across the street from Bryant Park. Click here to see more about it!

The Edge: Lastly is The Edge in the Hudson Yards and as you can see from below, it comes with quite the view! Not much to say about this spot besides that it oversees the entire city and depending on the time you go, you'll be able to see an amazing few with amazing NYC skies. It's also a great spot to just vibe with friends and family and go to the corner of the triangle and take some fire pictures! If you're interesting in visiting you can click here for more information.
